Soil biodiversity and ecosystem functions and services across biogeographic areas and land uses -
Objective:
WP2 aims to establish a framework for soil sampling, pre-treatment and analysis for different soil biological indicators and soil EFS under multiple land uses and different intensities and pressures, and provide the analytical data for WP3 and WP4. -
Description:
WP2 will provide the core measures needed to assess the links between multiple soil organisms and the delivery of EFS, including the identification of drivers, pressures, climate change resilience and adaptation and the identification of SMART indicators (WP3).
Tasks:
- Task 2.1. Methodology harmonization.
- Task 2.2. Experimental set-up and soil sampling.
- Task 2.3. Soil structure assessment.
- Task 2.4. Measure of soil indicators for EF and ES.
- Task 2.5. Characterization of soil organisms abundance, richness, diversity, function and structure.
- Task 2.6. Optimization of IR spectroscopy for the analysis of soil samples to predict soil biological groups and biodiversity indicators.
- Task 2.7. Ex-post evaluation of harmonized methodology and WP2 data
